Dr. Abdulaziz F. Ahmed is a highly respected orthopedic surgeon, triple-fellowship trained in shoulder and elbow surgery. He also has experience in Professional and College Sports Medicine, having served as a physician for the Colorado Avalanche, the Colorado Mammoth, the Denver Nuggets, and the Colorado Buffaloes.

Dr. Ahmed has an extensive experience in managing complex shoulder and elbow conditions, including treating patients with failed shoulder surgeries, performing tendon transfers, and scapular reconstructions. These are often challenging cases that are sometimes underrecognized in their complexity. Dr. Ahmed understands that these conditions can significantly impact a patient’s quality of life, which is why it is important to take great care to thoroughly evaluate the underlying issues and explore all available options. Education Background:

Dr. Ahmed earned his medical degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology and completed his orthopedic residency at Hamad Medical Corporation, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine in Doha, Qatar. He went on to complete three prestigious fellowship programs in shoulder and elbow surgery: at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland; at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, and at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Colorado.

Research Background:

Dr. Ahmed is deeply engaged in research aimed at improving outcomes in shoulder and elbow procedures by studying both patient-specific and surgical factors. His work also extends to biomechanics research, where he focuses on developing and refining surgical techniques to enhance patient care.

With over 40 peer-reviewed publications in leading orthopedic journals and multiple book chapters on complex shoulder conditions, Dr. Ahmed is a recognized contributor to the field. He also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Arthroscopy and has acted as a grant reviewer for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. These roles allow him to stay at the forefront of advancements in orthopedic surgery, ensuring that his patients benefit from the latest innovations in care.
